AMANDA DONOHUE
Physiotherapist
Amanda was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley. She graduated from Renfrew Collegiate Institute and moved to London, ON to attend Western University where she obtained her undergraduate degree of an Honours Specialization in Health Science with Biology, and took an active role in Western's orientation program for new students. After Western, Amanda earned her Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2015. After graduating she was very happy to return home to the Valley and begin practicing!
Amanda's special interests in physiotherapy include pelvic health and pediatrics. She has extensive post-graduate training for the management of pelvic health dysfunctions in both men and women. This includes bladder and bowel complaints, incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pre and postnatal care, pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain, as well as various forms of pelvic pain. Amanda has also taken courses in pediatric gait assessment, pediatric neurodevelopmental theory, and has vast knowledge and clinical experience treating babies with torticollis and plagiocephaly. In addition to pelvic health and pediatrics, Amanda has also taken an interest in concussion and dizziness management. She has completed multiple courses in advanced concussion management, craniosacral therapy, advanced vestibular rehabilitation, myofascial release, and several other orthopedic courses.
Amanda believes in offering individualized patient-centered care and treating the whole person. She implements a combination of patient education, hands on therapy, and exercise prescription in order to empower clients to take an active role in their recovery.
Outside of physiotherapy, she enjoys leading a healthy and active lifestyle and has trained for and completed multiple long distance races including three full marathons. She enjoys reading, running, and spending time with "her boys"- her husband Jake, and her sons Lachlan and Aiden.
